Won Tun Pastry
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • ⅔ cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  1. Sift flour into bowl- pour in half of the water, then oil, then the rest of the oil.
  2. Mix quickly with chopsticks or wooden spoon to form a dough.
  3. Turn dough out onto floured board and knead lightly until smooth and glossy.
  4. Return to lightly greased bowl and allow to stand for 20 minutes.
  5. Dust board with flour and form dough into a long roll 2.5cm in diameter.
  6. Cut into 2.5cm pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
  7. Flatten with hands, then roll out into squares 10 x 10cm.
  8. Sprinkle each one lightly with flour and wrap in greaseproof paper until ready for use.

  10. To make smaller pastry squares- form the dough into a long roll 2cm in diameter and cut into 2cm pieces, to make 6cm squares.
